Which cat breed?

A friend of mine has a very rare cat apparently....

Its as big as a maincombe with long full white hair, pink eyes and pink nose. Very docile and gorgeous to look at.

What breed could it be? Chinchillas seem to be close but they don't have pink eyes.

if its got pink or red eyes its an albino and it sounds a bit like a Persian to me... i think its an albino Persian

Any cat 'can' be white... if it has pink eyes, it's an albino of some sort. Which may be interesting to look at, but they often develop health problems, and it's not advisable to seek one out. If it's long haired, it could be either a persian, turkish angora, main coon, or domestic long hair. You'd have to judge it's breed based on it's bone structure, since an albino of any of those breeds would have the same coloring.

There is no breed that is meant to have pink eyes, breeders know better than to try and make one because albinos tend to be so unhealthy.

White fur and pink eyes sounds like an albino. Norwegian Forest Cats look similar to Maine Coons.

if it has no registration papers its just a regular cat....

most cats are not of any specific breed they are refered to as DSH, DMH, or DLH

pink eyes means the cat is an ALBINO.. not a breed.. this is a color

A Maincoon is a type of cat, not rare.

She sounds like an albino - the eyes are unpigmented and appear pink. The skin is pale pink.

Albino cats are very rare and are usually seen in pointed cats like Siamese, and also in snow Bengals. Albino kittens have turned up more recently in the Bengal breed, unsurprising since albinism is found in the Asian Leopard Cat (the wild parent of the Bengal).

Be sure to have this kitten fully vaccinated and keep her vaccinated throughout her life to prevent common kitty diseases since she is more susceptible to things like sunlight and immune type diseases.

Although *rare* to keep her healthy, spaying is best, not breeding. This is a genetic defect and no guarantee that she will pas this trait on to any off spring. Please tell your friend to spay her and bring her to the vet for a health check up and vaccines.

White cats are renowned to be deaf too.........

In addition they have a much higher percentage getting skin cancer especially on the tips of their ears.

Sounds like a Turkish Angora.

I dont know what breed that is, but doesn't sound like the prettiest to be totally honest. If you want an incredible cat, get yourself a chocolate burmese, or a platinum burmese. They are the most gorgeous, intelligent and affectionate cats known!
