What to do about sister?

My little sister wants to be just like me. I know that she looks up to me but she's going a little to far. I dyed my hair pink and she wants her hair pink as well and today while we were at the mall she saw the place where I dyed it and I had to go in the store to buy a bottle of purfume and she started having a big fit about wanting to get her hair dyed pink. We actualy had to leave the mall because of how bad her fit was. She's also wanting to have diamond earings. Yesterday I caught her trying to poke one of my diamond earings into her ear.

What shoould I do to let her act a bit like me but yet also tell her that she can't be tottaly like me and not do the same things as me?

By the way, she's 10.

She had a fit? Sounds to me like she's going a bit overboard. She is unique and her own person...she doesn't have to be just. like. you. Maybe you should tell your parents about it.

Talk to her. Tell her that you're flattered that she wants to be like you, but she needs to find her own unique style.

Maybe you should try buying her a bunch of really cool stuff (eg. Clothes, accessories) that are a different style to yours. Hopefully she will like them and want more things in that style.

A good way to help her find her own style would be to show her some catalogues and ask her what she likes.

I should know, as I used to be like her. My older sister used to be my idol and I always tried to be like her. That stopped when I was around 6 or 7, though. It stopped because my family started buying me different kinds of things and I began to like them more than my sister's things.

TEACH HER THAT SHE IS GROWING UP AND SHE HAS TO DEVELOP HER OWN STYLE AND WAY OF THINKING. BUY HER SOME FASHION MAGAZINES AND GIRL MAGAZINES LIKE SEVENTEEN , TEEN VOGUE, J-14 AND ANYTHING ELSE YOU CAN THINK OF. GIVE HER A MINI MAKE OVER.
